Bowling this weekend was fun, I figured some stuff out and now my record is 109.. though my average is closer to the mid eighties. I'm getting better!

As I browse Etsy, I keep seeing a bunch of really neat stuff and some of it looks like I might be able to make, especially some of the steampunk rings. This got me curious about soldering, and Last night, with Josh's help, I started to learn how with some pre-fluxed solder made for circuit boards (lol) and some stripped copper wire. At first I was just messing around, but the freak chunk of wire I had made started to take shape, and I made this:

Today I think I'll make a little devil :-D

If I ever actually want to make jewelry I'll have to get some silver solder, or at least something without lead, and that usually requires a torch to heat the metal hot enough to get it to melt. We have one, but that sounds scary O_O

It's really not scary after a couple times. The one thing you have to remember is that if you don't get it to light after a couple tries, you need to shut it off and let the gas clear out a little bit so you don't get a loud explosion when you spark it. XD I like making jewelry and metals projects. They're very cathartic for me after spending hours working on a computer screen.

Hey, that's pretty neat! :)

Interestingly, I've taken on the design of an award that will be internet based, called "the webbies," and will be soldering a spider web for it. :) The awards will be given out at the various Gatherings. :)

Very cool! Check out www.eyescreamjewelry.com, she has a lot of metal/stone jewelry pieces. I love the headdresses and necklaces, someday when I have money, ha!
