A poem

blinky
There was a guy
With a look in his eye
Which ladies all took as so cool.
You'd think he owned cars
Or a couple-a bars
Or a house with an in-ground pool.
But he worked late each day
For a minimum pay
And struggled so hard to get by.
What girls mistook for wealth
Was really kindness and health
And it gave him the look in his eye.

Oh when he went out
He'd get plenty of dates
He just couldn't keep 'em away.
They'd go see a show
For matinee rates
And have a spectacular day.
But once they got home
And his apartment she'd see
The cheapest that money could buy,
She'd make an excuse,
Refuse his coffee,
And leave without saying goodbye.

This man he waits
For the girl who won't care
About the size of his wallet or car.
Who will love him for him
And he'll love her for her
But he hasn't seen her so far.

So remember the guy
With the look in his eye
You turned down because of his style.
You never know
How he is in his soul
It might just bring you to smile.
